Hopefully after this exhibit, it is clear that the crisis in Ferguson is not an anomaly in the history of the United States. In addition, I hope it is clear that while each Uprising had a single catalyst incident, the outbreak of violence in each case stems from the buildup of years of racial oppression and injustice. The phenomenon of rioting in response to racial injustice and oppression, especially against police brutality, has existed in our country for several decades. Does the fact that no significant changes were made to America's justice system mean that the Uprisings in Watts, Los Angeles, and Oakland were futile? Will the same be true of the efforts in Ferguson?
